Dr. Frank Johnson is an active member of the Calgary Sports medicine scene, acting as a physician at 2011, 2012 and 2013 National Track and Field Championships and traveling to the 2013 IPC World Championships in France as Athletics Canada’s Team Physician.
Dr. Frank Johnson has a special interest in the management of pain from injuries sustained in sports, work, motor vehicle accidents, or simply the strains of everyday life. He maintains a small family practice in addition to his practice at NSC.
In addition to offering conventional pain medicine and sports medicine, Dr. Johnson specializes in a treatment called prolotherapy and PRP. Short for “proliferation therapy and Platelet Rich Plasma,” these therapies work by stimulating the body’s own natural healing mechanisms to repair injured ligaments, tendons, and nerves.
