If you trace back Wendy Anderson’s 27-year career in health care and community service, you’ll understand how she naturally has gravitated towards supporting people through her Clinical Mental Health Counselling practice.
Her caring and deep commitment to people’s health and well-being began as a nurse working in the hospital and various community outreach programs with a special interest in community mental health. She is a registered nurse but also holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counselling (Honours).
People from all walks of life have benefited from Wendy’s knowledge, expertise and genuine compassion through her volunteer work at various community non-profit agencies as well as at the Calgary Counselling Centre.
It is no secret that when you are in pain, your thoughts and emotions play a key role in your healing and recovery. It is exciting to think that under one roof, a clinic would have the expert clinicians to support both your physical and mental health needs. The mind and the body are connected and Wendy’s expertise and caring nature round out our team approach at NSC to support you on your healing journey.
Outside of work, Wendy is a mom and grandma, but also has a soft spot for all those furry creatures. If you ever want to get a glimpse into what makes Wendy tick, just ask her about her work with animal rescue…make sure you have a fresh cup of coffee though, it will be a deep and inspiring conversation.
